About the role
We are currently looking for a Structures Engineers to join our team based in Richmond near Sydney. As a member of the Airframe Structures team, the position is responsible for providing Airframe Structures Engineering support, to produce products and services that meet Customer, Regulatory and Airbus Australia Pacific (AAP) requirements. You will develop and deliver design solutions, using a systems engineering design philosophy, in accordance with the level and scope of Engineering Authority delegated to you. Specifically you will:
- Develop, review and manage Engineering tasks within your scope, including but not limited to advice, investigations, repairs, structural integrity reporting and modifications
- Develop and approve engineering advice and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness in accordance with the level and scope of delegated Engineering Authority
About you
To be successful in this role, it is a requirement to be able to work in a team environment, have well developed relationship skills as well as good verbal and written skills. You will need to be someone who is able to work autonomously and to tight deadlines and work comfortably in a continuous improvement work environment. The skills and experience best suited to this role:
- Professional experience working in an aviation military or commercial field as a practicing Engineer with 3+ years relevant experience
- Knowledge of airframe structural principles including, analysis methods, materials and manufacturing processes, and through-life airframe sustainment, with an awareness of the commercial aspects
- Demonstrated structural analysis skills including ‘hand stressing' skills, finite element analysis skills, fatigue and damage tolerance skills and/or CATIA skills
- Experience in the area of Aircraft Structural Integrity (ASI) in the Defence context and/or composite repairs is also highly regarded
- Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations (e.g. DASR, EASA, CASA, Transport Canada, etc.), standards and best practices
- Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical or compatible discipline from nationally accredited program or equivalent
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build long-lasting, collaborative relationships with peers and interdependent functions; and manage conflicting priorities within a matrix organisation
