Hipex is an Australian owned company based in Thomastown, Victoria. We specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of heat exchangers, equipment and systems for the food processing industry. Our small and friendly team produce work for national and international clients.
About the role:
A major focus of this role will be to perform engineering duties related to the development of both new and redeployment of existing designs (in part or in their entirety) to suit customer requirements.

· Sales – Quoting, managing and organising jobs on which you are the ‘Lead’.
· Negotiating with customers on commercial terms in consultation with Senior Engineers and other relevant staff.
· Analysis of existing designs and solutions with an eye to redeploying existing designs either in their entirety or parts thereof.
· Liaise with other team members to discuss proposed solutions.
· Assemble documents required for a project to be issued to the factory. This may mean utilising existing drawings or modifying existing drawings where possible and producing new drawings to accurately represent the solution.
· Assist the factory with the manufacture by development of suitable drawings and models.
· Assist the spare parts team with identification and procurement as necessary.
· We are a small organisation and from time to time you will be required to take on other roles when someone is away or overwhelmed.
About you:
- You will be tertiary qualified in mechanical engineering.
- You will be able to meet budgets and goals as set overall and in individual client jobs.
- Ability to interact with the broader Hipex team.
- Be able to work autonomously and with a team depending on the circumstances (Adaptable).
- Ability to interact with clients and communicate in a professional, timely and accurate manner.
- Ability to negotiate with clients to the satisfaction of both Hipex and the clients’ needs.

This role is full time, working Monday to Friday and you must have the capacity to do after hours and Saturday overtime when required.
