Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Engineering Draftsperson to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract at our head office in Narangba. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and designing guard and machinery drawings, as well as parts drawings to aid in local supply and meet customer requirements. This role involves working closely with the Workshop Manager and other departments to ensure that all designs are accurate and meet our high standards. There is a potential for this role to become permanent based on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate & Design Drawings:
- Develop and revise guard and machinery drawings in collaboration with the Workshop Manager.
- Ensure all designs meet machinery needs and adhere to company standards.
- Parts Design:
- Create detailed parts drawings to facilitate local supply and fulfill customer requirements.
- Design custom parts to meet specific customer needs upon request, working closely with the Workshop Manager.
- Technical Engineering:
- Redesign and engineer parts to address ongoing service issues, in conjunction with the service department and Workshop Manager.
- Monitor and reduce service issues through innovative engineering solutions.
- Proposal Drawings Maintenance:
- Maintain and update proposal drawings using Aggflow and Visio.
- Keep the proposal database current with information on new and updated machines, including OEM files within the company database.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical advice and support on Q2 yard jobs in collaboration with the Workshop Manager.
Qualifications:
- Formal qualification in Drafing, Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably within a manufacturing or machinery environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
