About the Role: As Engineering Group Supervisor (EGS) – Control Systems, you will plan, develop, coordinate and review engineering work within a discipline on a medium to large size study / project. You will: apply broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to project engineering. make decisions independently. manage the project Control Systems team. manage control system subconsultants. develop and review Functional Descriptions and Control System Specifications. manage and review functional safety implementation within the Control System. prepare discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manage implementation and performance accordingly. review and approve key engineering drawings and calculations and bid summaries, including field and design documents relating to the discipline. coordinate assigned engineering work with other project groups. supervise the day-to-day technical work and provide technical direction to discipline engineering supervisors, engineers, specialists, designers and drafters. other duties as required. What You Bring: degree in Electrical, Control Systems, Automation or Mechatronics Engineering, or a professional license in an appropriate engineering or scientific discipline, from a recognized licensing board, or specialized courses in relevant general engineering or science or an appropriate engineering discipline. Functional Safety Engineer certification, Professional or Expert. broad progressive work experience in design engineering or other relevant types of engineering such as systems startup, field engineering or plant operation in large scale mining facilities, bulk-material handling facilities, mineral processing facilities, industrial plants, utilities, process plants, or engineering/construction firms. knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, materials, and automation in the discipline. knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods. knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved. knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards, and design and/or layout criteria pertinent to the particular discipline. knowledge of application and coordination of 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools on a project. demonstrated skill in leadership and supervision.
