- Fortescue's Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people. This role is located at the Anderson Point offices.
Roster: FIFO 8/6 FIFO ex. Perth; or 8/6 residential
This exciting opportunity involves overseeing a team made up of internal fabricator and apprentice, along with embedded contractor fabricators, scaffolders and blast and paint teams. We are looking for someone with a background in engineering or structural remediation based work to join our team, who has previous experience in a leadership or project management role, with good communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise a team of Full time and contracted employees
- Review / approve SAP notifications and attend weekly planning meetings
- Manage Work Order Backlog
- Short term planning to align with yearly structural remediation plan
- Ensure compliance to operating strategy and defect removal plan
- Meet with structural engineers to prioritise structural defect elimination and document / provide evidence once removed for closure
- Material management and planning
- Attend all Shutdown interface meetings
- Work with Shutdown team to build execution strategies around Structural Integrity and schedule accordingly
- Identify work that qualifies for capital
- Identify improvement projects
- Participate in Tender packaging process
- Run / Attend monthly contractor review meetings
- Conduct Field Interactions on work groups to promote safe work practices
- Support teams with MS Office applications, SAP and general computer training
- Minimum 2-5 years' experience in Mining/Heavy Industrial environment
- Minimum 2-5 years' experience in Project Management
- Minimum 2-5 years' experience directly supervising a team
- Engineering Degree or Trade Qualification
- Competency in SAP (preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Project, Word, Power Point (Essential)
- Good leadership skills with ability to positively influence people to achieve their targets
- High level written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact at all levels
- Self-driven, willing to be flexible and the ability to demonstrate initiative without Supervision
- Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure
- Current Driver's License (C Class)
