The Opportunity
We are looking to partner with an accomplished Engineering Maintenance Manager to lead the Berrima cement plant maintenance team. Your key focus in this role will be to develop and execute the maintenance strategy while working towards achieving successful outcomes in the areas of safety, plant reliability, costs and quality.
As an integral part of the leadership team, you will also contribute to maintenance best practice initiatives as required across the cement manufacturing operations including the development and success of the overall operations team.
Other duties and responsibilities include:
- Active leadership and promotion of workplace health, safety and environmental processes and culture at Berrima to identify hazards, manage risks and prevent unsafe events.
- Working together with other cross functional stakeholders to deliver safe uninterrupted supply solutions to our customers.
- Effective training and development of maintenance team personnel in line with Boral values and best practice maintenance techniques.
- Ensure effective leadership and management of maintenance contractors.
- Set sustainable maintenance budgets and develop operational improvement strategies that continually reduce maintenance costs.
- Ensure effective management of shutdowns to achieve safety, quality, costs and timing outcomes.
- Continuous improvement in plant reliability.
To be successful you must have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years’ experience managing a multi-trade skilled maintenance team in a 24/7 heavy industrial environment.
- Cement manufacturing operations knowledge and experience (preferred).
- Sound knowledge and experience in developing and implementing world class maintenance techniques.
- Demonstrated understanding in asset reliability processes to continually improve plant performance.
- Competent in high level risk management processes.
- Ability to deliver through multi-functional working groups.
