About The Opportunity
Programmed Facility Management are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our portfolio of relationships with major water customers across key metropolitan areas throughout Australia and lead our transition into the New Zealand market. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations, including responsive and planned maintenance, as well as minor capital projects. As a key senior leader, the General Manager will maintain productive and long-standing relationships with executive-level stakeholders while ensuring operational and financial performance within the water division.
Reporting to the Head of Utilities, this permanent full-time position could be based in Collins Street (VIC) or Paramatta (NSW) and will be instrumental to the strategic direction of the utilities division and provide an opportunity to contribute to essential services for our major cities and wider communities.
Leveraging your highly developed business acumen and strategic lens, some key responsibilities include:
- Lead strategic development for major water customer relationships in key metropolitan areas.
- Oversee operational aspects including maintenance and capital projects.
- Maintain strong relationships with executive-level stakeholders.
- Ensure financial performance and budget adherence within the water division.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team.
- Collaborate across functions and contribute to the utilities division's strategic direction.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and manage risks effectively.
- Provide regular performance reporting and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Propose Merger & Acquisition targets to continue to develop capacity and grow capability in the water sector.
- Engage with communities and represent the company in industry events.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a seasoned senior management professional with operational and strategic relationship-focused experience, ideally in the water or similar service-related industry.
Additionally, you will demonstrate and possess the following:
- Tertiary qualification in business or similar discipline (Commerce, Finance, Engineering, etc) or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated management experience including OPEX/CAPEX performance responsibility.
- Experience developing strategic business plans and demonstrated evidence in executing them.
- Highly developed communication and robust stakeholder engagement ability.
- Proactive approach to relationship management.
