This is an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join our Abbotsford Brewery. Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, you will lead the site engineering standards and processes, including all maintenance and regulatory compliance and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support operational departments to achieve business objectives by managing the following key areas:
- Utilities Supply to Site,
- Electrical and Automation Custodianship for Site,
- Engineering and WIP Inventory Management,
- Facilities Management including all imbedded contractors, and
- Capital Portfolio Custodianship
- Review process, plant and equipment change proposals. This ensures that all changes to processes and equipment are safe, efficient, and compliant with all relevant regulations.
- Accountable for developing the core engineering skills on site in line with the skills acquisition program using training and development plans to coach and mentor employees, as well as conducting performance reviews.
- Lead the Site Engineering Team and ensure effective engagement and development plans are in place and regular feedback provided.
- The role presides over the most utility efficient beverage facility in the Asahi network, and the role must champion further step change improvements to support the business’s sustainability agenda.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Previous experience as a packaging or brewing and utilities engineer, preferably in FMCG.
- Prior management/leadership skills
- Proven ability to minimize HSE risk relating to Engineering, Utilities and Facilities Function
- Strong Relationship Management/ Consulting Skills
- Sound leadership and people management experience
- Lean manufacturing experience (e.g. Six Sigma) – desirable
- Extensive and proven Engineering process knowledge
