About the role
Project Engineer or Assistant to Project manager - A great opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a qualification in civil engineering, construction management, project management, contract administration or similar. We are seeking a passionate professional who will work closely to assist a Project Supervisor on-site with the coordination of a commercial project and will be involved in the delivery of major hydraulic and civil construction project around Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Supervisor and construction team with the delivery of a commercial construction project.
- Administration of project documents including safety, quality, operation and maintenance manuals.
- Be involved with construction program and meeting project targets.
- On site to assist with coordination and understanding of specific project.
Work directly with supervisor, foremen, plumbers, construction managers and clients.
Drafting of monthly claims for projects you may be involved in.
Assessment and administration of contractual variations.
Measuring Architectural drawings to markup fixtures to create a schedule for quoting to merchants.
Submitting samples and tech data to builders as project develops.
Understand Specification for projects you are involved in, to flag and workshop key items.
Administration of project documents including quality, operation & maintenance manuals.
Administer and implement safety procedures and systems.
Implement and monitor quality systems that are worked on by site team.
Creation and monitoring of project program to report to the site supervisor and assess against contract progress.
Use tracking schedules to monitor the status of each project.
Procurement of materials including quoting and tracking of supplies.
Monitoring of materials and labor costs.
Drive internal construction team meetings to track progress and assign actions.
Attend and represent the team at on site construction meetings.
Problem solve and present outcome with the Supervisor.
Coordination of project documents, instructions and drawings.
On site coordination of services including clash detection of existing services and hydraulic installations.

Role is full time on site on one of our larger projects, which one will depend on the timing and what side of town you are from.
Respectfully I ask that I save the final remuneration package information for a discussion with you based on experience and circumstances, but I note it will be higher than minimum market value and higher again for the right person who can bring construction experience to our business.
Skills and experience
- Bachelor/master's degree or qualification in Engineering, Civil or Hydraulic Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Contract Administration or similar.
- Individuals without a degree/qualification but with excellent coordination skills and a great attitude are welcome to apply.
- Proficient time management, communication and organizational skills.
- A keen sense of motivation and enthusiasm to learn and develop.
