Our client is a leading food manufacturer who have developed a premium position in the market, due to quality and innovation. They are experiencing a period of consolidation and growth and subsequently are searching for an experienced Maintenance Manager who can effectively manage the maintenance, resources, and activities to ensure optimise performance of their facility north of Brisbane. The role will establish Preventative Maintenance programs and ensure all equipment is safe to operate and CI projects are carried out on time and to budget.
This is very much a dynamic and hands-on role that is responsible for leading, coaching and directing activities within the Maintenance team. The successful applicant will have strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive engagement and a culture of continuous improvement. This role is a crucial member of the site management team and will play a major part in driving their agenda of operational excellence, cost reduction and increased productivity.
Other role focuses will include:
- Daily management of the maintenance team and department
- Liaising with outside contractors/ service providers to ensure PMs are completed as planned
- Establishing and refining PM function, developing and implementing PM policies to optimise plant uptime
- Identifying and correcting any OH&S issues
- Participating in annual budget process
- Identifying training and skill needs for the team
- Building a high-performance team focused on delivering superior service levels
- Participating in all stages of quality audits, as required
- Liaising with Production teams to identify machine issues and plans for resolution
- Checking weekly / daily production plan and organising accordingly
- Participating in, and contributing to, debate, evaluation and decision making of key departmental issues as a member of the operations team
Qualifications + Experience:
- Experience managing a Maintenance Department in a food or FMCG setting
- An Electrical background would be highly regarded or a Mechanical Trade Certificate
- Engineering degree in relevant discipline would also be advantageous
- Experience in CMMS, Excel and Word
