The Opportunity:

Are you an experienced engineering leader with a passion for driving operational excellence? We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Engineering Manager to lead the team based at our Liverpool, NSW manufacturing site.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering APAC, in this key role you see you leading a multidisciplinary engineering team, providing overall direction, coordination, and execution of specific engineering activities aligned with our company's strategy, commitments and goals. 

Your leadership will play a crucial role in maintaining our facility and equipment at optimal levels of safety and operational readiness.

Key Accountabilities:

• Lead, motivate, and supervise a diverse engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Maintain facility and plant equipment in a safe and operational state of readiness at all times in order to fulfill daily production requirements
• Maintain comprehensive engineering records, including preventive maintenance schedules and machine history.
• Operate the engineering department, implement and manage an efficient preventive maintenance program to minimize production downtime.
• Provide support for project work as required, particularly in the deployment of new equipment or processing changes which need to be integrated into existing maintenance system
• Prepare tenders, oversee vendor selection, and manage relationships with contractors.
• Continually evaluate new equipment and production techniques to ensure that ARYZTA is on the leading edge of bakery technology.
• Coordinate meetings with senior management and establish effective working relationships and two-way communication throughout the company.
• Develop, mentor and evaluate engineering teams, focusing on selection, training, competency, and development.
• Manage contractor and external partner performance, ensuring proper induction and documentation.

About you:

To thrive in this role, you will have:

• 5 years+ experience in a complex engineering environment, ideally with a large-scale baking/food or FMCG company.
• Demonstrated experience in engineering/maintenance management.
• Engineering qualifications or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to drive cultural change, people development and teams engagement.
• Commercial acumen and experience in negotiating with external partners/vendors.
• Flexibility with working schedules and availability for afterhours work when required.
