WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint Asset Management Engineer.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Asset Management Engineer to join our team on the SSTOM project. The ideal candidate will be an engineer with a background in mechanical or electrical engineering, coupled with experience or knowledge in Asset Management and maintenance practices. The primary responsibility of this role is to plan, coordinate and oversee all inspection and maintenance activities essential for ensuring the operational efficiency and longevity of assets throughout the Construction and Testing and Commissioning phases. This includes assets inherited from FIW contractors as well as those produced by our construction activities. The activities will also need to be coordinated with those of our JV Partner Siemens. The Asset Management Engineer will be tasked with organizing and executing inspection protocols, maintaining meticulous records of all maintenance activities, and coordinating with internal and external resources to facilitate these tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive inspection and maintenance plans for all assets involved in the SSTOM project.
- Coordinate with construction teams to ensure timely and thorough inspections of assets, including but not limited to tracks, signalling systems, electrical components, and other critical infrastructure.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop checklists, protocols, and documentation templates to streamline inspection processes.
- Supervise and provide guidance to construction teams and external contractors during inspection and maintenance activities to ensure adherence to established standards and protocols.
- Collect and maintain detailed records of all inspection findings, maintenance activities, and asset performance indicators.
- Analyse inspection data and asset performance metrics to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to develop strategies for optimizing asset performance and minimizing downtime.
- Provide regular reports and updates to project stakeholders on the status of asset inspection and maintenance activities.
- Produce maintenance records that will facilitate efficient handover to the O&M Contractor and evidence to the Regulator.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Asset Management, maintenance engineering, or a similar role within the railway or transportation sector.
- Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management principles and maintenance strategies.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with internal teams, external contractors, and stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in utilizing software tools for data management, analysis, and reporting.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards governing railway infrastructure and Asset Management practices.
