The Project
The M80 Ring Road Alliance (comprising ACCIONA, MACA, and AECOM) has been selected to design and construct the M80 Ring Road Completion.
The project will deliver a major upgrade of the M80 Ring Road between the M80-Plenty Road interchange and the North East Link tunnel entrance at Watsonia, providing a seamless connection to North East Link. Works includes 2km of new freeway upgrade, 3km of new freeway, separation of local roads from the freeway, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.
Key accountabilities for the position
You will be responsible for planning and managing the delivery of construction design and providing technical support to construction methodologies to ensure the achievement of the M80RR Alliance objectives.
Manage, plan and control the delivery of construction design and technical support to ensure the achievement of Alliance Objectives.
Manage the interaction of project members in the design development and construction delivery process, including design, construction, planning, environment, sustainability, quality Temporary Works, Traffic Engineering, and Systems Engineering.
Review and influence Design and Construction Methodologies to optimise outcomes.
Coordinate the Change Management Process
Manage coordination of design and delivery with a range of public authorities and asset owners with relation to, power, water, comms and gas
Assist in the design and construction approval process by coordinating issue resolution.
Manage Engineering project resourcing and coordination of internal and external service providers.
Management and coordination of client and stakeholder requirements and expectations and communicate effectively with the project team.
Manage work and performance of subcontractors engaged by the Engineering Team.
Required Skills and Competencies
Bachelor of Civil/structural/mechanical/electrical Engineering or equivalent
Excellent planning, negotiation, problem solving & leadership skills.
Experience managing complex utilities and assets relocations
Able to pro-actively advise, consult and provide value to construction teams on methodologies and staging of programmes.
Competencies in complex budget management as well as financial forecasting & reporting
