An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Victoria and Tasmania team based at our West Melbourne site.
The purpose of this role is to provide engineering expertise and leadership of the regional engineering projects team across Quantem’s VIC and TAS terminals. The role will be responsible for the development and delivery of key projects and programs (inc. tank T&I program) of work across the regional portfolio. The role will also encompass a continuous improvement element which will involve working across the team to identify and deliver initiatives to reduce risk, improve compliance and create long term sustainable benefits for the business. The role will also champion Quantem’s Project Management Methodology, Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Start Up safety reviews (PSSR). This role is critical in ensuring compliance with relevant Australian & Company Standards along with alignment with Quantem’s corporate and strategic objectives and expected to ensure safe, incident free operations at all times.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Ensure timely, cost effective, complaint and safe development and delivery of key projects, programs and major maintenance activities across Quantem’s asset portfolio
- Effectively use contract and consulting resources as approved to support project development, and execution
- Achieve 0 LTI for all activities for both Quantem and contract employees
- Support the development of national standards and systems to ensure safety, compliance, reliability and quality requirements are meet
- Lead and support the Regional Engineering team, creating an environment that promotes high performance, collaboration, staff development and succession planning
- Manage the Regional Engineering team to ensure all works are carried out according to applicable legislation, licences, regulatory requirements, and appropriate standards to meet safety, quality, cost and timeliness
To be considered for the position, candidates will possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (preferably Mechanical or similar)
- Minimum 10 years related Engineering experience in Bulk Liquid Chemical, Petrochemical or Oil Industry
- Practical experience project management
- Experience in multi-site retail portfolio
- Ability to manage competing priorities and projects
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience in risk management, HSSE legislation, dangerous goods handling and storage, hazardous substance management
- Knowledge and understanding of the requirements associated with Major Hazard Facilities
- Strong working knowledge of applicable Australian and Industry Standards Essential Skills
- Experience is development and presenting management reporting
