Your role as the Engineering Team Leader Projects you will support our clients by providing innovative solutions that reduce our clients’ carbon emissions, drive cost savings, and accelerate energy performance.
Lead the change, from the frontline
Based in Sydney or Melbourne, the Engineering Team Leader is a valued member of our Energy Solutions Assets and Projects team. The role requires you to undertake measurement and verification of energy efficiency projects, create White Paper Certificates and be responsible for the technical design and install of the assets {Solar (Ground Mount/Rooftop), Battery Energy Storage System, EV Chargers, Boiler Upgrades etc) which are designed and deployed by Shell Energy team. The team provide technical design services to assist both Sales and Project Managers in the delivery of contracted opportunities.
With honesty, integrity and respect, you will:
- Manage a team of engineers providing guidance and support.
- Assist with the development of design for Solar, Batteries and other ancillary services deployed by Shell Energy
- Ensure delivery of assigned projects on time.
- Create detailed solution designs for all contracted opportunities (Electrical, Mechanical and Civil).
- Ensure project design outputs are delivered on time, within budget and to a high technical and HSSE standards.
- Compliance with HSSE procedures and identification and mitigation of all HSSE risks in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Preparation and continuous improvements of Technical Specifications for all workstreams (Solar, PV, EV, Gas retrofit, Boiler Upgrades)
- Ensure completed systems conform to all specifications, codes, standards, and customer requirements.
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support.
- Maintain project schedules by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
- Coordinating commissioning checks between Engineering Team and delivery team.
- Developing high level designs using innovative solutions
- Providing technical support to the Project Management team to ensure smooth delivery of projects.
- Build and lead a team of high performing engineers.
- Performance review and KPI monitoring for the team.
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
- An effective team player with experience working in a team, preferably within the energy, construction or services industry;
- Project management skills, with experience in the successful delivery of projects;
- Experience with HSSE, risk management and contact management;
- A good network of key stakeholders within the renewables sector;
- Excellent time management and organisation skills;
- Good problem-solving skills with high levels of initiative;
- Chartered Professional Engineer (must have) with RPEQ status (preferred) in relevant discipline;
- CEC accredited for solar design of grid and off grid systems and install (must have);
- CEC accreditation for Grid-connect Battery Storage design and install (must have); and
- Willingness to travel.
