Amentum has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Engineering Technician - Telecommunications to join their team in Alice Springs, NT - Australia.

THE ROLE
The Engineering Technician - Telecommunications role is responsible for the independent application of relevant technical knowledge, techniques and procedures in support of the safe and effective operation, maintenance and management of facility assets, infrastructure and systems. This subject matter expert position plays an integral role within a diverse and complex work environment that is responsible for the management and control of critical infrastructure configuration and is a key advisor of the teams and technical disciplines within the Engineering functional area and the Program Site.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform technical studies, analyses, investigations and consultations.
Identify, define and develop detailed requirements for facility infrastructure, equipment and system modification, replacement, upgrade and/or recapitalisation.
Provide technical support to engineering and design staff in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction and operation of diverse cabling equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
Review and provide technical advice on proposed changes to facility infrastructure and systems, from general concepts through to detailed IFC designs.
Plan, coordinate, administer and execute tasks in support of critical infrastructure configuration change.
Provide technical recommendations, input, direction and advice on facilities system, infrastructure and equipment reliability, operation, maintenance, life-cycle management and costing.
Development of ROM costing estimates in support of facility infrastructure, equipment and system modification, upgrade, replacement and/or recapitalisation.
Evaluate operational systems, equipment, processes and infrastructure in support of general and targeted optimization and improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements.
Any other reasonable duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Essential
ACMA Open Cabling registration with endorsements – optical fiber, structured cable, coaxial
Desirable
Certificate III or IV in Telecommunications
TICKETS AND LICENCES

CPR
LV Rescue
White Card
Working at Heights
Desirable
Forklift License
Drivers License
Elevated Work Platform
First Aid
EXPERIENCE – Minimum Essential
3 years working within the Telecommunications environment
Proficient in the use of MS Office applications
WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift up to 10 kg independently.
Able to coordinate the actions of a small team.
Demonstrated preparedness to step up and take charge.
Function in a hot desert environment.
STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS
At least 18 years of age.
Able to fluently read, write and speak English
Australian or US citizen
EHS REQUIREMENT
