We are currently looking for anEngineering technologist to join our team in West Melbourne. As an EngineeringTechnologist at you will play an important role in ensuring the efficiency andeffectiveness of our height safety systems and building maintenance operations.You will be responsible for applying engineering principles to optimiseprocesses, enhance equipment performance, and contribute to the overall successof our projects.

KeyResponsibilities:

·        Design and draft detailed drawings and mapsusing specialised software to report and illustrate different height safetySystems (i.e., Anchor Points, Walkways & Ladders, Fall protection, fallarrest systems and height safety access) in rooftops, canopies, skylights, andexternal facades of buildings.

·        Collaborate with the operations team to analyseand assess building structures and facades.

·        Conduct inspections, tests and certifications ofFall Restraint Systems such as static lines and rope access anchor points usingthe load pull tester to certify anchorage systems according to AustralianStandards.

·        Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers toexplore new technologies and enhancements of current technologies.

·        Provide technological and technical advice whenrequired and participate in the Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) elaborationprocess.

·        Evaluate and improve the performance of existingequipment, including but not limited to window cleaning systems, lifts, andsafety gear.

·        Prepare and review the SWMS (Safe Work MethodStatements) for each project site building according to Australian standardssuch as Occupational and Health & Safety Act, AS/NZS 4488.1:1997,Occupational Health and Safety ACT 2004, AS/NZS ISO 22846.2:2020, occupationalhealth and safety regulations 2017, compliance code-prevention of falls ingeneral construction 2019, AS/NZS ISO 22846.1:2020 among others.

·        Assist in planning and managing multiple HeightAccess Maintenance projects and Height Safety installation and certification,providing the highest safety standards for our team and clients.

·        Support the Operations Management Department inguaranteeing that each site project aligns with the client's specifications,adheres to established time frames, and achieves desired outcomes.

·        Ensure compliance with industry safety standardsand regulations.

·        Support in estimating project costs and overseeproject budgets, actively identifying opportunities for cost savings.

·        Deliverengineering support and/or management on the different running projects.

·        Develop training materials and conduct sessionsfor operational staff to operate BMUs (Building Maintenance Units) in multiplebuildings.

·        Gather and analyse data relating to ongoingprojects, utilising this information to identify areas for improvement infuture projects.

·        Stay updated on industry best practices andshare knowledge with the team.

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or arelated field.

·        Proven 2 years’ experience in a similar role,preferably in the building maintenance or related industry.

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·        relevant rope access/height safetyqualifications (or be willing to undertake same prior to or soon aftercommencement)

·        a commitment to exceptional customer service

·        solid hands-on experience on industrial andcommercial sites.

·        Knowledge of safety regulations and bestpractices.

·        Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

·        Proficiency in using relevant engineeringsoftware and tools.

Salary: $65,000 to$75,000(excluding superannuation contributions)
