Central Highlands Rural Health are seeking applications for an experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager to work alongside the perioperative team of our new purpose-built operating theatre at our Daylesford campus.
The Daylesford Hospital operating theatre is scheduled to open July 2024 and will be operating sessions starting three days a week, expanding to five days within the first six months.
The newly refurbished, purpose-built facility hosts a sterile stock storage area, recovery and CCSD operations providing state-of-the-art facilities to deliver best care.
General surgery scope of practice at Central Highlands Rural Health includes but is not limited to, colonoscopy and gastroscopy. Ophthalmology Services such as cataract extractions are performed in collaboration with Grampians Health Service.
Role Statement
Central Highlands Rural Health (CHRH) newly purpose-built operating theatre is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) for a permanent position, to join our expanding and dynamic team. Based in Daylesford the CHRH operating theatre comprises of one theatre, recovery room and provides care for patients in the elective setting. The facility will accommodate a range of day procedures for adult specialities include general surgery and ophthalmology services. The complex also comprises a Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA) that provides care for surgical patients during the admission, recovery and discharge phase of their surgical journey.
This position will at the beginning incorporate the Pre-Admissions Clinic (PAC) nurse role, while we are in the process of expanding the service with the aim to grow this position to permanent ANUM role.
Key Responsibilities, Duties and Performance Indicators:
- Must demonstrate expert perioperative knowledge and skills, assume a prominent management focus and model CHRH values.
- Demonstrate effective management skills appropriate to the Associate Nurse Unit manager role.
- Advanced understanding and familiarity with accreditation standards.
- Are a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and is committed to providing high quality, evidence-based care.
