Enrolled Nurse position available at dedicated Reproductive & Sexual HealthDay Surgery NGO at Newington. Desired minimum 3 days per fortnight. Purpose built state of the art licensed facility with free onsite parking which is close to public transport, cafes and shopping centre.
Shifts now available on Tuesday - Thursday, 8.00am - 4.30pm.
Family Planning Australia (FPA) is the leading provider of reproductive and Sexual Health services in NSW. As an independent not-for-profit organisation, we offer expert clinical care, information, and advice for everybody in every family as well as education and training and evidence-based research to support doctors, nurses, and other professionals.
Develop and expand your perioperative nursing skillsin reproductive and Sexual Health with opportunities to manage your own assessment and pre-admission consultations and provide peri-operative care across admissions, theatre and recovery. The position is responsible for the provision of high quality clinical care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Position Overview
The Enrolled Nurse plays an important role in supporting the strategic directions of Family Planning Australia. This is a multi-faceted role responsible for the provision of high quality reproductive and Sexual Health clinical services to Family Planning Australia Day Surgery clients and is required to work effectively in a team environment.
Base Full Time Salary: $58,231 - $63,152 (salary is based on experience)
Essential criteria
- Diploma of nursing and AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse
- If registered prior to 2015, must also have completed the following unit of study Administer and Monitor Medicines and Intravenous Therapy HLTENN007 or equivalent
- Current CPR certificate
- High level knowledge and understanding of the principles of infection control, including aseptic technique
- Demonstrated ability to support clients and provide assistance to the proceduralist during reproductive and Sexual Health procedures provided under anaesthetic or sedation
- Sound computer skills, including MS Office applications
- Proven strong interpersonal, negotiation, written and oral communication skills
- High level ability to manage competing demands and adapt effectively to change
- Demonstrated ability to perform tasks under the direction of the clinician with minimal supervision, as well as within a broader team
- Must have Australian working rights
Desirable criteria
- Experience working with priority populations including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, young people, people with disability, LGBTQ people and/or culturally and linguistically diverse people
- Experience in reproductive and Sexual Health and/or abortion care
- Minimum 12 months experience in perioperative nursing and ability to provide intravenous medication
