Rivermount College is a non-denominational co-educational Christian College located halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Nestled on the banks of the beautiful Albert River at Yatala, the Kindy to Year 12 campus provides a dynamic and inclusive learning community.

Our Community Relations Department is committed to building relationships with parents, students, Alumni and members of the wider community through connection, communication and engagement.

The College is seeking a community relations professional to join the team in the role of Enrolments and Alumni Assistant. Under the guidance of the Director of Community Relations, and working closely with team members in marketing, communications and media, the successful applicant will embody the school’s mission and values by providing excellence in customer service.

This newly created role will provide administrative support within the Community Relations team with a focus on enrolments and alumni engagement. Being a team player and possessing the ability to establish relationships is essential along with a kind, calm and empathetic nature, charismatic personality, and strong attention to detail.

The role of the Enrolments and Alumni Assistant entails a diverse range of responsibilities as well as the opportunity to acquire and develop new skills to support the function of the Community Relations Department. 

The regular working hours and days for this position is: Monday - Friday | 8:30am - 4:30pm, term time only.  This position does however require additional work  after the academic school year in addition to 5 days in each school holiday break. 

Key tasks include:

  • Coordinating the enrolment pipeline from enquiry through to application, interview, confirmation, and commencement at the College.
  • Processing enrolment applications and ensuring data is accurate.
  • Maintaining future, current, and past student records.
  • Welcoming new families to the College in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conducting weekly campus tours, often with groups of up to 10 or more people.
  • Planning and attending Open Days, Principal’s Tours, Alumni Reunions, and other key community events.
  • Responding to enquiries by phone, email and in person, and communicating accurate information and direction.
  • Scheduling enrolment interviews for new students.
  • Establishing connections with past students and maintaining positive communication from graduation to reunion.
  • Assisting with tasks associated with marketing, communications and media as required.
  • Working cooperatively and collaboratively with Community Relations team members to deliver high quality services. 
  • Some out of hours work is a requirement of this role.

Skills and Experience:

The following qualifications and experience are necessary for this position:

  • Previous experience in a customer service and administration role, preferably in an education setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent and professional personal presentation.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring accuracy of data entry.
  • Ability to problem solve, exercise initiative and flexibility and work calmly under pressure.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and a passion for working in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of clientele.
  • Advanced computer skills with the Microsoft suite of products and the ability to learn new software programs as required.
  • Clear and articulate speaking voice and the confidence to engage with parents, students, and staff.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills including the ability to prioritise and meet competing deadlines. 
  • Ability to plan and organise events for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Current Blue Card.
