Role Description:
The Enterprise Architect sits in the Design and Strategy Branch - which provides strategic guidance of technology and data investment and is responsible for development and maintenance of whole of government technology architecture and design practice - including principles, standards and methods
The Enterprise Architect will provide technology direction, advice and guidance for the ACT Government’s digital transformation journey
Responsibilities:
Be instrumental in the development of the ACT Government's digital technology roadmap; translating business strategies and objectives into a sustainable operating model, assessment of capabilities and identifying changes to these capabilities to achieve the ACT Government’s objectives.
You will create an architectural framework that embodies the key principles of their future operational state to support technology prioritisation and investment in digital, data and technology solutions
- Lead the development of an enterprise wide architecture framework, principles and roadmap in the domains of Business, Data, Application, Infrastructure, Security and Integration to inform and guide the Government’s digital investment decisions
- Drive the development of a core systems capability strategy and roadmap to promote and drive re-use of common capabilities, platforms and solutions within the ACT Government.
- Create, iterate and maintain architectural models and views, as well as standards and guiding principles that guide the evolution of the ACT Government’s operating environment.
- Provide leadership and direction of architecture by assisting and advising the Design Authority, Solution Architecture capability and stakeholders, on the best use of architecture approaches and models
- Actively support and participate in the analysis of business and operating models, market trends and the technology industry
- Engage with a diverse set of stakeholders at the senior officer and executive levels to further the ACT Government’s enterprise view of technology capabilities, platforms and solutions to further its digital strategy and citizen facing services.
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills, high levels of integrity and ability to build trusted relationships.
- Able to motivate teams, align on goals and influence executive stakeholders and technologists alike.
- Extensive knowledge of Enterprise Architecture and it's development and application in Federal and State Governments.
- Demonstrated significant experience in the development of architecture frameworks, principles and roadmaps across all domains of Enterprise Architecture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- The ability to craft strategic documents and artefacts for executive and ministerial audiences to inform and influence material decisions
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to analyse and unravel complex business and technology problems and provide viable options, innovative solutions and visibility into execution issues
