Join the Ekka Entertainment & Education Department, a vital component of The Royal Queensland Show, dedicated to delivering the iconic Ekka, which involves assisting in the planning and coordinating of a range of Entertainment events and competitions and working with entertainers and Community groups. As the Entertainment Assistant for the Royal Queensland Show (RQS/Ekka), you will play a pivotal role in pre-show preparations, planning and delivery of the Entertainment portfolio.
We seek a candidate with administration and planning experience, Your project or event management skills, coupled with excellent communication, a positive attitude, and problem-solving abilities, will make you a valuable addition to our team. The role requires both independent and collaborative work.

About us:
The Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA) is a member-based organisation. The organisation's charter is to celebrate and champion the essential role agriculture plays in the everyday lives of Queenslanders.
The RNA runs the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka), Queensland's largest event, on behalf of the community for 9 days each year in August. Staged at its original birthplace, the Brisbane Showgrounds, the Ekka showcases its unique tradition and heritage by bringing the city and country together for a once a year exhibition. On average 400,000 people gather to see thousands of exhibits, animals, world-class entertainment and taste award-winning food and wine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the coordination of administration for performers including their contracts, safety documentation, technical requirements, and event accreditation. Liaising with performers, collating bios, images, and additional details for entry into ShowGuide.
- Assist Entertainment & Education Executive and Head of Entertainment as required.
- Assist with the coordination and delivery of aspects within the Entertainment & Education Department, (i.e., Programs, Stages, and Events)
- Assist with the bump-in of Entertainment portfolio venues and areas.
- Stage manage during the Ekka Show dates as necessary, including greeting and escorting performers and/or one-day-event organisers to the venue, ensuring all scheduled performances and events are running on time, etc.
- Post event responsibilities encompassing bump out, thorough post-event reports and customer/performer feedback reports.
- Assist Head of Entertainment & Education as directed

Skills and Experience:
Although not essential, the following qualifications / experience would be seen favourably:
- A tertiary qualification in Event Management
- Excellent time management skills
- Adaptability
- Outstanding communication, problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Effective organisational skills with a strong motivation to achieve results.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with a diverse range of people and different audiences
