ASSISTANT FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT - CORPORATE FINANCE

As our ASSISTANT FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will deliver high quality general accounting services within our Corporate Financial Accounting function.
This exciting role is within a team which provides a diverse range of accounting for the group including Treasury, Joint Ventures, Corporate divisions, Fixed Assets and Capital Projects.
A few of your responsibilities
- Provide assistance with financial accounting services including journal processing, month end GL close, reconciliations and basic reporting
- Uploading of Joint Venture Partners invoices in a timely manner
- Review Capital Acquisition Requests and set up projects in accounting systems
- Complete monthly Fixed Assets module closing tasks and reports generation
- Assist finance operations, business partners and groups with accounting and reporting queries, including project initiation, closures and capitalisation to fixed assets process.
- Assist with the investigation and resolution of internal accounting processes or control issues
What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred
- Currently studying towards CA/ CPA qualification
- Proficient digital literacy in relevant systems (Oracle, TM1, Excel) is essential
- High level numeracy and reconciliation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
- Team-player with a positive demeanour who is self-organised

You will be eager to learn and keen to gain knowledge of our general accounting and month end processes. Your role will be pivotal in our monthly accounting operations at The Star.
