Drafts Person – Electronic Security / Healthcare 

Due to an exciting period of growth, we currently have an amazing opportunity available for a Draftsperson in a full-time capacity, with career progression into an Estimator or Sales role.

Our company has been providing integrated systems for Electronic Security, Access Control and Healthcare solutions to clients for over 35 years such as Aged Care Facilities, Hospitals, Government Departments, and a broad range of medium to large commercial clients.

Located in Altona North, we are well positioned to service clients from all around Victoria, with a large portion of clients located within the Northern and Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. The right candidate will be joining a boutique Industry Leading and agile Professional Company who specialise in the Security & Healthcare Industry.

About the Role: 

We are currently seeking an experienced Design Draftsperson or Designer for our Engineering team to carry out the design and drafting of accurate and detailed working drawings for Electronic Security and Electronic Healthcare installations from a job card and customer specifications.

The successful applicant will be required to become a team player in the Engineering team and successfully carry out a range of tasks that include.

• Produce accurate shop drawings, services layouts & schematics.
• Preparing Bill of Materials (BOM) to assist Project Managers and Sales Teams.
• Provide General Arrangement drawings for quotation and tendering purposes.
• Provide ongoing technical backup and assistance to the Estimation Manager and Project Teams.
• Provide design options and solutions to clients and suppliers.
• Help maintain drawing and document control systems.

Skills and Experience: 

While an Engineering Qualification would be desirable, proven industry experience will also be considered.

• 1-3 years or more experience using AutoCAD 2D and/or 3D.
• Solutions focused with the ability to problem solve.
• The desire and ability to implement new design concepts for further development of the business.
• Able to work unsupervised and achieve agreed outcomes and time frames.
• An eye for detail and the desire to achieve 100% accuracy,
• Working knowledge of Australian Drawing Standards and Procedures is beneficial.
• Qualifications and/or experience in drafting technical drawings of a mechanical nature, specifically Electrical and Services.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
