The Team
This role will support the firm’s responsible business program – the Impact Project. The Impact Project is about the actions we, as a firm, can take to make a positive impact on the world, including pro bono legal services, reconciliation, community support, and environmental stewardship. You will directly support the Head of Responsible Business based in Melbourne. The responsible business team drives sustainability across the firm nationally, together with our Diversity and Inclusion Co-ordinator and network.
The Role
We are currently looking for a switched-on and enthusiastic Environment Coordinator to join our Melbourne CBD office on a part-time basis. Your responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Assist with the firm's climate impact including our environmental management system and emissions platform.
- Implementing decarbonisation strategies including renewable energy, waste reduction, sustainable travel and alliance with sustainable suppliers.
- Coordinate the firm’s environment committee (BNGreen) driving staff led initiatives, awareness, education and events.
- Explore and review opportunities for environmental improvement across the firm and support the delivery of communications and stakeholder engagement to facilitate change.
- Involvement in industry relevant groups including Australian Legal Sector Alliance and City Switch.
- Environmental reporting and budget management.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has a keen interest in sustainability, climate change, and social responsibility. This is an exciting role for someone looking to get into the environmental space and is able to leverage existing analytical, strategic and communication skills. University students who are currently working towards a sustainability or related degree as well as any administration or analytical experience will be highly regarded. A Melbourne based applicant is ideal to support the Melbourne team, but national applicants will also be considered. A full time role may be considered for any applicants which can support other areas of the business.
