Environment Engineer

Primary Position Objectives:
This role will be responsible for working directly with the relevant Corporate Environment Leaders, site based Environmental and Production Operations teams, Engineering and Site Managers to deliver improvement projects related to Environmental Management Systems and Plans for the Control, Monitoring and Reporting obligations.
This position will be provided specific project(s) to identify and implement agreed improvements to the respective environmental programs related to the environmental management priorities. This position will also be required to ensure effectively communication of the project during any commissioning to all resources impact by the project changes.
This is a hands-on role, requiring travel around the site on a daily basis. Flexibility and initiative are required, as you will largely work unsupervised, and interact with a large number of stakeholders.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Working directly with the relevant key employees on site specifically focused on Environmental Compliance Reporting and Data
Management systems. This will include but not be limited to:
o Emission & Energy Reporting:
? Assist with monthly data entry and quality checks for site data entry
? Support annual emission reporting for state & federal government reporting schemes
o Site Compliance Monitoring:
? Support site teams and management to ensure all environmental sampling, testing and monitoring of multiple sites for
compliance with the site license conditions related to wastewater, irrigation, groundwater, soils and general licence
parameters.
? Provide technical input relating to regulatory non-conformances, providing relevant information, action plans and to
avoid Fine or Prosecution
? Ensure that the environmental database is updated and maintained with all incidents and regulatory contacts
? Liaising with laboratories to ensure results are received, collated and reported in a timely manner
o Implementation and management of any associated improvement trials/ projects
• Supporting the development of project scopes, including project report framework (timelines and milestones) with key stakeholders
• Implementing and leading project communications including milestone achievement reporting
• Managing the updating of any site based environmental programs
• Ensuring effective implementation of all improvement programs and the respective responsibilities communicated and tasks undertaken.
including designing, implementing, enhancing the environmental programs to ensure compliance with pertinent environmental regulations,
conformance to company environmental policies and ISO14001 based environmental management plans. These include but are not limited
to the following:
? Reviewing and updating related site Environment Management Plans (including flow charts, instructions, forms)
? Undertaking site inspections and audits
? Undertaking incident investigation & reporting, including maintain accurate records of incident reports, corrective actions
and escalation of risks
? Supporting site-based resource and competencies, awareness, internal and external communications including
documentation control and control of records
? Undertaking operational planning and implementing controls to ensure operational compliance to all legal obligations
and minimise and or eliminate potential harm to the environment resulting from our operations
• Working with the site management team to identify areas of process and technological improvement to deliver better operational compliance
and environmental performance and incorporate in annual CAPEX programs were required
