The firm & The Role
Our client is a multi-award winning major law firm with a leading Environment & Planning team and they are looking to recruit an Environment & Planning Lawyer with at least 4 years post admission experience to senior lawyer level. The ideal candidate will be at the Associate level and ready for a Senior Associate role, be a Senior Lawyer/Senior Associate or even a Special Counsel.
This is a 'hands on' role where you will hit the ground running, have client and matter responsibility and autonomy.
This role will see you gaining experience in Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, Class 4, Class 5 and Class 6 proceedings.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to gain experience in planning appeals, enforcements & judicial reviews, prosecutions. There will also be opportunity to get involved in advisory work, especially in relation to environment and climate change issues.
The client base is a mix of major property developers, major construction companies as well as government agencies and councils.
The role has come about due to growth and a strong pipeline of work. There is no shortage of interesting and stimulatoing work. There is also a clear and transparent career path for those who are ambitious.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 4 years post admission experience in Environment & Planning law (lawyers working in-house or in govt are encouraged to apply)
- Excellent technical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a committed team but also autonomously
- Ability to work under pressure and juggle competing deadlines
- Ability to mentor more junior members of the team and play an important role in the further growth of the practice group
- Passion, drive, enthusiasm
