About the Project:
The Scarborough gas resource is in the Carnarvon Basin, offshore Western Australia, and it will be developed through new offshore facilities connected by an approximately 430 km export trunkline with a 36/32 in. dia. to a second LNG train (Pluto Train 2) at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility. The development will be among the lowest carbon intensity sources of LNG globally.
Saipem Australia has been awarded the Offshore Installation Contract by Woodside for the coating, transportation, and installation of the trunkline, at a maximum water depth of 1400 m, including the fabrication and installation of the line structures and of the pipeline end termination in 950-m water depth. Offshore operations are planned to start in mid-2023 and will be mainly conducted by the Castorone vessel.

About the role
Saipem Australia is seeking a professional and dedicated Environmental Advisor for the Scarborough Project.
Reporting to the QHSE Manager, you will provide necessary support to ensure that the project environmental plans and procedures are properly implemented on site during operations.
The position will initially be a 12-month contract with options to extend. The role will be based at our head office in West Perth with easy access to public transport.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide guidelines for the management of the environmental aspects;
- Analyze the activities environmental impact, both for project and execution phase;
- Identify and develop proper mitigation measures and methods to be implemented for reduction of the environmental impact;
- Provide support for the development and improvement of the environmental management system and performances of the project;
- Update and spread the laws knowledge and the authorizing processes related to the environment;
- Environmental compliance and record checks, and associated reporting; and
- Environmental Audits and Inspections.
Professional Qualifications
- Environmental regulations in Australia;
- Degree in Environmental Science / Management or related discipline;
- Experience in dealing with relevant regulators (NOPSEMA/DMIRS);
- Performing Environmental assessments;
- Strong attention to detail; and
- Environment Oil and Gas Industry standards / expectations.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Excellent verbal and written communications (in English), with very strong attention to detail and the ability to structure thoughts deliberately, logically, and directly;
- High level of initiative, self drive and enthusiasm to succeed and progress;
- Very good organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, manage expectations and coordinate priorities;
- Strategic thinking mindset;
- Willing to learn; and
- Flexibility.
