About the Role
This position develops and leads the preparation of State and Federal Environmental Approvals.
Key responsibilities are:
- Lead the preparation of State and Federal Environmental Approvals
- Develop and maintain Environmental Approvals strategies that are aligned to, and prioritised in accordance with, broader business objectives;
- Support engagement with relevant external stakeholders including Traditional Owners, State and Federal Government agencies on Environmental Approvals;
- Provide technical Environmental Approvals advice
- Support other environmental activities and initiatives as directed by the business.
- Appoint and manage external consultants through the preparation of scope and deliverables for packages of work where required and manage their performance
- Provide input into contracts
- Provide regular business updates on progress, schedule and budget management

About You:
To be successful in this role you will posses the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, or equivalent;
- Project Management Certificate
- Demonstrated experience in preparing Environmental Approvals
- Lead and completed approvals for EIS and Major Amendments and Federal referrals an advantage
- Sound understanding of relevant environmental legislation, in particular the EP Act and EPBC Act
- Sound technical writing skills, attention to detail and an ability to problem solve
- Experience engaging with and influencing internal and external stakeholders;
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing business needs;
- Sound planning, organisational and time management skills.
