About the Role
The Environmental Operations branch is responsible for the preservation, management and enhancement of council’s diverse range of environmental and recreational assets and in partnership with our community, the rich biodiversity of the region’s landscapes. The branch plays an active role within council, liaising with other units, as well as with the community to maintain and deliver high quality environmental outcomes.
As an Environmental Assets Management Officer, you’ll be exposed to important work with direct positive impact to our beautiful region and community. You will be maintaining asset data management systems, asset condition assessments, and advising on asset renewal requirements.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop, implement, coordinate, and deliver scheduled and reactive maintenance works for the effective and safe functioning of Council’s Environmental Assets portfolio.
- Complete minor construction, repair and/or maintenance works on assets.
- Develop contract documentation including scopes, and relevant and measurable conditions associated with maintenance projects relating to Council’s asset renewal and replacement.
- Coordinate the capture, audit and condition assessment for all relevant infrastructure assets and participate in the development of the team’s capital works program.

As an Environmental Assets Management Officer, you will have proven experience in asset maintenance management, design and construction relating to a variety of recreation and environmental infrastructures.
You will have demonstrated experience in developing contract scopes, specifications and arrangements for the delivery of programmed maintenance interventions and monitoring of contract delivery.
You will possess proven knowledge and application of IT solutions for inspecting, auditing, monitoring and reporting on asset conditions.
As a requirement of this role, you will have physical capacity to perform and supervise minor asset maintenance activities, a Current “C” class manual drivers’ licence and Construction White Card.

Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
