  • Must be available to work 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm shifts including weekends

About Us
Serco has a dedicated team of over 600 people supporting operations at Fiona Stanley Hospital and works in close partnership with the hospital leadership, WA Health, clinicians, and staff to deliver essential non-clinical facilities management, ICT and HR managed services. Our specialist team designs, manages and optimises the integrated services and are critical to the ongoing delivery of clinical services in Western Australia's largest and most digitally enabled public healthcare facility.

About the Role
Are you looking for a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment? Join our team at Fiona Stanley Hospital as an Environmental Attendant. In this role, you will play a crucial part in segregating and disposing of hospital waste with a key focus on sustainability. The role involves walking throughout the hospital for up to 8 hours a day, interacting with patients, clinical staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
• Distributing clean bins and other waste receptacles throughout the hospital
• Collecting full bins and waste materials.
• Ensuring proper disposal and segregation of waste in accordance with hospital policy
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment
• Engaging with stakeholders in relation to sustainability initiatives.

About you
You are a customer focussed, meticulous individual who is committed to supporting Australia's leading healthcare environment by taking pride in your surroundings. You have high attention to detail and are respectful and professional and demonstrate exceptional values in everything you do. Your exceptional communication skills will allow you to communicate with stakeholders at all level. You will have excellent time management skills and can prioritise your workload to meet the needs of the business.


To be successful in this role, you will have:
• The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
• Demonstrated ability to apply relevant standards and processes involved with working in a large healthcare organisation.
• Demonstrated experience working with subcontractors.
• Ability to maintain appropriate relationships with team members and a broad range of stakeholders from external contractors to medical, nursing and clerical teams.
• Ability to work autonomously maintaining effective work outputs.
• Ability to work in a team to achieve goals.
• Previous experience within a health care or hospitality environment (desirable).
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a customer orientated environment.
• Demonstrated experience in a physical demanding job (desirable).
