About this position
We are in search of a dedicated and proactive individual to support the Health and Compliance team in delivering a customer focused and efficient service oriented towards the health, safety and welfare of the community.
This role involves close collaboration with residents and businesses, handling tasks such as conducting risk assessments, granting approvals, implementing sampling programs, investigating complaints and providing advice on Environmental Health issues.
What we are looking for
To be successful you must be able to demonstrate:
- Strong organisational and customer service skills that will assist you in investigating Environmental Health related complaints and taking appropriate enforcement action to reach a resolution
- An ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience as an Environmental Health Officer
Essential requirements
- Current driver’s licence.
- Environmental Health Officer qualification (as required by Section 18 of the Public Health Act 2016), and relevant experience
- Noise authorisation under the Environmental Protection Act 1986
- Current Police Clearance (less than three months old). Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
