About Us Abergeldie is a locally owned contractor with 30 years’ industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors. Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation: the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.About the role We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Manager to join our team in Canberra on the Raising London Project and future projects in the ACT and Southern NSW region. Your role will be expected to:
Provide operational environmental and sustainability guidance, consistency and compliance across projects to drive a culture of best practice.
Identification and effective management and implementation of sustainability and environmental risk management controls
Embed sustainability and environmental requirements into the design and procurement process and make sure accountabilities are communicated to the project team
Support the tender process by providing environmental and sustainability technical input for projects under development.
Liaise with the client and government bodies on environmental and sustainability matters
Establish, monitor and report on key sustainability and environmental performance objectives and standards for managing project risks
Ensure Abergeldie adopts robust due diligence and risk management processes and understands and meets its regulatory and legal environmental obligations
Ensuring the organisation is compliant with Environmental Regulations.
Ensure Implementation and compliance to our Third Party Certified Environmental System to ISO14001:2015 on Projects.
Improve Client outcomes through interpretation of Client and regulatory requirements while delivering sustainable and positive economic outcomes.
About you
Demonstrated experience of 10 + years in a similar role
Demonstrated experience in successfully achieving compliant project outcomes
Highly developed capacity to communicate across a range of Project Team levels, clinet, and key stakeholder.
Bachelor or Masters in Environmental, Engineering Science or related field.
Extensive knowledge of relevant State and Federal Government legislation and policies.
