We are currently seeking suitably qualified applicants for the role of Environmental Officerlocated in Warrnambool, Victoria.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct monitoring, inspection, and auditing activities
- Using and maintaining field-based monitoring equipment
- Recording and compiling data from field instruments and laboratory reports into spreadsheets and databases
- Gather, analyse, interpret, and report environmental data for all sites
- Assist with environmental incident investigations as required
- Implementation and verification of the business’s Environmental Management System
- Support the development of site compliance reports required in association with our licenses to operate
- Compliance reporting, including NPI, NGERS, APS, EPA Licence/Exemption Certificate applications for all sites within the business
- Managing a diverse range of operational environmental issues
- Environmental monitoring
- Environmental report preparation and review
- Undertaking on-site environmental inspections
- Document management
- Providing input into the ongoing development and implementation of the site's Environmental Management System
- Liaising with operational personnel to develop better environmental practices on site and continuously improve environmental performance across the operations
- Developing and providing regular reports and updates on environmental performance and expectations in consultation with internal and external stakeholders
- Annual Environmental services review and business cases
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:
- Tertiary education in environmental science or engineering
- Understanding of Mann-Kendall or Minitab statistical software
- Time Management
- Excellent software, communication, and report-writing skills
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and environmental best practices (EPA, Australian Standards)
- Project Management, commercial acumen, and analytical skills
- Experience in environmental management systems and regulatory compliance
- Familiarity with Australian environmental and sustainability regulations and international sustainability frameworks (e.g., UN SDGs, NGERS etc)
