The Opportunity

We now have a fantastic and challenging opportunity available for a EPMO Project Assurance Lead to join us, based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Head of EPMO, you will own and execute the application of the APA Project Assurance Framework, including management of external assurance panels, alignment of project assurance, design, and internal controls / assurance.

The purpose of this role is to work with APA program and project practitioners to provide, or facilitate provision of analysis, insights and recommendations to improve outcomes for major projects or programs. You will draw on project and program management delivery experience to ensure confidence to APA executives, board members, and other stakeholders that programs and projects are aligned to strategic imperatives, on track, and will deliver the required quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and refine a scalable internal and external project assurance framework
  • Collaborate within the EPMO and Divisional PMOs to align to program/project assurance
  • Manage associated external vendors, consultancy commercial and contractual arrangements with APA procurement
  • Develop dashboard style "one pager" reports for distribution
  • Review and analyse critical program/project artefacts against best practice methodologies; and work with CoE Leads to provide articulate feedback to Program/Project Managers.
  • Assurance and Compliance Execution, including performing and coordinating all EPMO program and project quality assurance activities against agreed plans to identify and mitigate any risks.
  • Continuous Improvement, including enhancing, developing, implementing, and enforcing Quality Management policies and procedures to improve the overall operations of EPMO.

Your Background

We are seeking a seasoned Assurance / Audit Consultant or Manager with a number of years of experience working client side or from a big 4. We are seeking advanced knowledge of, and demonstrated experience in, project management lifecycles, competencies and development methodologies (preferably Agile, SAFe, PMP, MSP, MoP, PRINCE2, PMBOK) as well as excellent analytical, conceptual thinking, planning and delivery skills used to investigate detail of programs and projects within our organisation.

The EPMO ensures that there is a standard applied to critical and strategic Programs and Projects and enables APA to plan and execute a more integrated approach to delivering projects across the group, underpinned by right sized investment governance and assurance.
