A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.About the OpportunityThe Equipment & Tooling Manager will be responsible for delivering standard fixed and portable manufacturing equipment, hand tools and associated consumables for the new, fit for purpose Nuclear Powered Submarine Construction Yard (SCY) at Osborne, South Australia. The role consists of generating equipment lists with the standard (off the shelf) fixed and portable equipment which is inclusive of hand tools that will be used at the SCY across multiple trade disciplines. In addition, the role will be responsible for managing the tool cribs that will store the hand tools and associated consumables while tracking uptime and scheduled preventative maintenance requirements.The Equipment & Tooling Manager will work with end users to define the Equipment And tools required for the SCY and contribute to the Statements of Work required for the procurement of the standard fixed and portable equipment, hand tools and related consumable items. The role will work closely with the Infrastructure Teams to coordinate the fixed equipment into the layout drawings. The role will also work closely with the Procurement Team to ensure the equipment, tools and consumables are procured in accordance with the specifications, the infrastructure delivery schedule and operational need dates.Responsibilities
- Scope and deliver the standard Equipment And Tooling with input to the statements of work, layout drawings, training plans, templates and reports that are required to define the safe, modern and efficient equipment.
- Execution of the assurance for equipment through monitoring and managing suppliers to deliver the contracted scope of equipment, tooling and consumables including commissioning, training and final acceptance.
- Ensure equipment is safe, compliant with relevant standards and fit-for purpose.
- Security including but not limited to security classification, Business Impact Level, Export Controls, etc.
- Safety including but not limited to safety risk assessments, compliance with Australian Standards and Regulations,
- Support the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance schedules and spare parts.
- ICT including but not limited to implementation of tool tracking software for monitoring and reporting the allocation of tooling and consumables.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Trade Qualified with Manufacturing Industry experience.
- 10+ years' experience working with Equipment And Tooling within the industrial manufacturing industry.
- Specific experience within the Defence Shipbuilding Industry will be highly regarded.
- Experience project managing equipment procurement, design, manufacturing, installation and/or commissioning work.
- Experience in technical governance (compliance, technical performance measurements, customer acceptance and technical risk) across multiple tasks.
- Lifecycle process effectiveness and tailoring across multiple tasks.
- Experience working with a team of technical personnel in complex and unique industrial environments.
