Key accountabilities include:
- Providing specialist and strategic program advice to internal and external stakeholders including the HWQld Strategic Leadership Team, the Office of the Minister for Health, cross-government entities (at local, state and federal levels), non-government organisations, as well as the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Sector in advancing prevention, Equity and related issues which can carry significant political, community and business impacts.
- Leading the coordination of prevention efforts by gathering insights and embracing new ideas and innovation to inform future practices.
- Leading the coordination of prevention efforts to ensure equitable outcomes for all Queenslanders particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Managing the development, implementation and evaluation of multiple complex projects while effectively utilising internal functions including research, data, and communications to develop and progress program initiatives.
- Keeping up to date with international, national and local emergent trends and opportunities to inform the progression of the agency's Equity remit including but not limited to the National Agreement for Closing the Gap.
- Building and sustaining relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of community-focused outcomes with key government and non-government stakeholders to support a whole-of-system approach to prevention to improve health initiatives for all Queenslander, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Communities.
- Leading the drafting of briefing notes, correspondence, case studies and summaries, and contributing equity content to communications and media plans and briefings, both for internal and external audiences, all while utilising expertise across HWQld to inform and deliver this work.
- Mentoring, coaching, and providing support to team members to strengthen and mobilise their unique talents, and to aid in their areas of development and pursuit of growth aspirations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout HWQld, including consistent approaches for identifying, developing, and promoting innovation across the organisation.
