About the Port

The Port of Townsville Limited (the Port) has been actively shaping the future of Townsville and North Queensland for almost 160 years. 

Today, we are Australia’s largest port for zinc, lead, copper, sugar and fertiliser. Additionally, we handle more motor vehicles and containerised goods than any other port in Northern Australia. The goods that flow through our ports are grown, mined, manufactured and used to better the lives of more than 800,000 people across a vast catchment area, spanning from Hinchinbrook to the Burdekin and west to Mount Isa. 

On average, more than 7.5 million tonnes of goods, worth more than $11.4 billion, cross our wharves each year. Thanks to our customers, we are one of the country’s most diverse ports, linking more than 30 different commodities to 130 ports in 44 countries. 

The Townsville port is also an increasingly strategic forward mounting location in Australia’s Defence capabilities, as well as an important tourism enabler due to its modern dedicated cruise ship terminal.

About the role and you

The ERP Integration Lead is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integrations between the Port’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Property Management System, and various internal applications. The ERP Integration Lead collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data flow, optimise business processes, and enhance overall system functionality.

Due to the nature of the project and function of the role, preference is performance of the role at Port’s Townsville office.  Remote working options may be considered if suitable applicant is not based in Townsville area.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and integration needs.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of existing systems and applications to determine integration points.
  • Work with vendors to design and develop integration solutions that align with business requirements.
  • Implement and configure middleware or integration platforms to facilitate seamless data exchange.
  • Work with vendors to develop and manage APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) to enable communication between the ERP system and other applications.
  • Ensure API security, scalability, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Map data between different systems, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Implement data transformation processes to meet the requirements of both source and target systems.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on integration progress and addressing concerns.
  • Conduct thorough testing of integration processes to identify and rectify issues.
  • Collaborate with SME’s to ensure data accuracy, system reliability, and optimal performance.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of integration processes, including technical specifications, data flow diagrams, and configuration settings.
  • Provide timely support to address integration-related issues.
  • Collaborate with the support and maintenance teams to optimise integration processes.

Experience you’ll need

To be successful in the role, you will require: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • National Police Check.
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing ERP integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of integration platforms, middleware, and API development.
  • Strong understanding of Tier 1 or 2 ERP systems and database structures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality integration solutions.
  • Team collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to navigate ambiguity and evolving project requirements.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in using ERPs such as TechnologyOne, Oracle, SAP.
