We are looking for an experienced Estate Planning Lawyer to join our growing Wills & Estates team and be based at our new Southport office located in the Excalibur Building opposite the Courts at 52 Davenport Street. Our Wills & Estates team is made up of experienced Partners, senior associates, associates, lawyers, graduates and senior paralegals who practice exclusively in this area of law. It is one of the largest succession law teams in the country and is supplemented by a dedicated estate litigation team.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced, empathetic Estate Planning Lawyer (2-5 years PAE) to join our Wills & Estates team with the predominant purpose of providing a wide range of Estate Planning advice and drafting any required documentation.
The successful applicant will have a passion for helping people to craft their estate plan and providing advice about protection of their assets and loved ones. They will be capable to deliver high quality legal services to clients, have exceptional organisation skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a large team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a file load of varied Estate Planning matters, including testamentary trusts, special disability trusts, business succession, SMSF’s, and blended families
- Provide legal advice and assistance to clients in all aspects of Estate Planning
- Prepare and review Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney, Appointments of Enduring Guardians, Advanced Health Directives and any other Estate Planning documents in QLD, NSW & VIC
- Understanding the tax implications of Estate Planning and key transactions
- Liaising and working with other professionals such as accountants and financial planners
Requirements
The successful candidate should have/be:
- Admission as a lawyer with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in either or both NSW & Qld Succession law
- A client focused approach with the ability to maintain positive relationships with clients and referrers
- Excellent drafting skills with a high level of attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality work
- Ability to manage multiple files, prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple appointments
- Assisting with charity Wills Days offered by the firm
- Ability to work between all our offices, when required
- Willingness to build relationships with referrers and build your personal profile
- Experience in LEAP software is beneficial, but not a requirement

The Location
