Access theThis role gives you the opportunity to contribute to improvements to the legal aid and criminal justice systems. As a Senior Lawyer, you will represent legally aided clients and instruct counsel in complex and high-profile criminal law matters, while assisting the principal lawyer to supervise the legal work of, train and guide staff within Criminal Law Services.Our Criminal Law Practice represents children and adults charged with criminal offences before all courts in Queensland. From magistrate's court duty lawyer services to complex trials and appeal cases in the higher courts, we protect people's rights and play an integral role in Queensland's criminal justice system.About you
- You must be admitted or eligible for immediate admission as a legal practitioner in Queensland; and you must be eligible for a current practicing certificate and entry in the High Court Register of Practitioners.
- You have proven experience in criminal law matters with the ability to contribute to the develoment of more junior lawyers through mentoring and coaching
- 37.25 hrs per week (full time hours)
