A specialist Engineering Contractor seeks a Remedial Estimating Design Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis in Sydney

About the role
This is a great opportunity for an Estimation Engineer / Senior Estimation Engineer or Estimating Manager who relishes working on a variety of projects, primarily estimating, tendering and business development through existing networks, we are seeking an outgoing, ambitious Engineer with excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
Projects are primarily in the concrete / post-tensioned concrete sector.
This opportuntiy would suit an Engineer who has gained experience in design and is interested in growing towards management.
An ideal candidate should be capable of working within the estimating department.
With regards to estimating, the candidate should be willing to go on tender meetings and liaise with the clients pre contracts award. There would be a business development angle to the role but this would be mainly warm business development through existing relationships and through tracking available tenders.
The ideal candidate will be able to work fairly autonomous, will be provided direction but will need to be a go getter.
Key Responsibilities, Skills and Qualifications
- Post tensioning and Structural Remedial Works preferred
- Capable of doing preliminary design and some detailed design in post-tensioned concrete (PT)
- Knowledge and experience using RAPT and RAM Concept software packages
- Manage multiple bids / tenders / estimates team
- Identifying leads and potential business opportunities through tender portals and connecting with businesses working in the sector
- Maintain client relations by being lead contact for proposals and estimates for client
- Identify and learn customer requirements for bid purposes
- Participate in pre and post bid meetings as required
- Log proposals and tenders into spreadsheets for cost tracking
- Market company’s services to existing and potential clients
- Assessing business opportunities and preparing tenders
- Helping to prepare quotes, estimates and support in the tender process
- Required to both maintain and create client relationships to help further build the company profile
- Attend client meetings
- Explore any opportunities to help further develop the company
- Follow and enforce all company standards and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering / Civil Engineering or Building Construction or similar
