We are currently looking for a full-time, permanent Estimator, who will form part of our Commercial Construction team. In this role you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality service through Design Development and Construction, in conjunction with Australian Industry Standards. You have a proven track record as an Estimator, demonstrate a can-do attitude and are prepared to take on any challenge. You enjoy contributing and communicating effectively to the internal and external team ensuring efforts are aligned toward achieving team goals and maintaining company standards.
Highly organised and personable you are ready to embrace our company's vision, talent, culture and enhance it with your own personality and skills, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve goals and objectives, delivering upon the requirements of the role without being directed on a daily basis.
The role includes but not limited to the following tasks.
- Prepare detailed cost plans for all stages of cost estimation: Concept, Indicative, Budget and Construction in line with Company policy.
- Future planning: Develop, maintain and analyse cost in the Cost Plan database for company costing rates, costing archives, costing software, costing program and reporting to upper management.
- Will be involved in the final design development and cost planning phase of the projects to ensure construction methodologies and detailing are cost effective.
- Liaison with design consultants
- Facilitate Opportunity and Risk cost impact workshops with Management to evaluate alternatives with cost and delivery efficiency.
- Establish detailed scopes of work for all trades.
- Help develop an all-inclusive standard Tender Request format, RFI process, Tender analysis process and any other process as required to facilitate good business practice.
Skills, Experience & Responsibilities:
- A working knowledge on integrated financial management systems.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a commercial estimating role.
- Experience in the use of Cost Plan computer system software in particular (CUBIT) spreadsheets and databases.
- Ability to effectively investigate and produce Cost Plans where limited information has been provided.
- Knowledge of the principles of Design Development
- Sound knowledge of estimating and analysis processes and practices
- Ability to interpret general architectural drawings.
- Preparation and analysis of Cost Plan
- Experience in tendering projects.
- A Technicians Certificate / Quantity Surveyor qualification or equivalent (not essential)
- Ability to interpret general architectural drawings.
- Experience in prefabrication processes would also be advantageous.
