About the role
Our Machine Shop based in Canning Vale specialises in machining very large components, equipped with some of Western Australia's largest precision-calibrated machining centres.
We are looking for an Estimator for our Machine Shop with the drive, experience and skills to join the Camco Team.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Managing inquiries for quotes from clients.
- Assessing all machining needs for projects involving fixed plant machinery
- Supervising operations in the Machining Workshop.
- Collaborating closely with Leading Hands and Division Managers to ensure job completion.
- Opportunities to go out and search for new clients.
- Site visits - in Perth or at mine sites - to see the progress of your work.
About you:
- Minimum of 1 year experience estimating.
- Previous experience in a similar environment.
- Relevant Trade Certificate.
- Ability to thoroughly review engineering drawings and specifications to determine project scope and materials needed.
- Able to use MS Suite.
- Capability to effectively communicate with clients, workshop personnel, and management.
- Ability to identify potential challenges or issues in the machining process and propose solutions to mitigate them.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements, customer needs, and market conditions to provide competitive and accurate estimates.
- Committed to understanding and meeting customer needs while balancing cost-effectiveness and quality in estimates.
