Machine Shop Supervisor Job Description

Roadwest Transport Equipment & Sales Pty Ltd is a manufacturing company based in Bayswater, Western Australia. We are an established market leader in truck trailer manufacturing and are recognised throughout Australia for our comprehensive range of quality and reliable equipment.
We are expanding and we are looking to fill the role of Machine Shop Supervisor to run our newly constructed machine workshop.
Responsibilities for Machine Shop Supervisor.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment, in accordance with Western Australian WHS Legislation and company procedures.
- Ensure that all jobs are completed on time.
- Uphold a high standard of accuracy for work put out to production floor.
- Manage minimum and maximum stock levels and liaise with procurement department on daily basis.
- Schedule and manage all new jobs put into fabrication.
- Provide delivery dates to Production Manager.
- Attend and participate in production meetings.
- Assign work daily and move labour to operations where necessary.
- Ensure that all staff members in your department are multi skilled and can operate all machinery and equipment with great proficiency.
- Manage all offcut materials and ensure that scrap factors do not exceed company protocol.
- Schedule and plan shift work when required.
- Implement and manage a maintenance schedule on all equipment within your department.
Qualifications and Experience required for Machine Shop Supervisor.
- Min 3-5 Years experience in a supervisor role.
- Experience on the following machines:
- Fibre Laser machines.
- High-definition plasma cutters (Thermax 300 beneficial)
- CNC press brakes.
- Guillotine
- 4 Axis CNC lathe.
- Forklift licence.
- Able to operate pendant controlled overhead cranes.
- Dogging or rigging licence (highly desirable)
