About your role
As an Estimator at UNITA you will be in responsible for estimating the costs of construction projects ranging from medium to high complexity working with key stakeholders to provide the most cost-effective plans that meet high-quality standard. This role is based in our Brisbane office, in the heart of Fortitude Valley.
What your days will look like
- Strong adherence to tendering timelines and identifying works that may or may not be shown in the tender documents, ensuring key milestones are met each week.
- Developing a thorough understanding of each project and sourcing subcontractors and suppliers with a high level of capability and compliance, as needed.
- Identifying and quantifying cost factors, such as production time, material, equipment and labour expenses.
- Collaborating with the construction team from the beginning of the process, to ensure high-level and quality of estimation to deliver the client's outcome to budget.
- Coordinating and conducting ‘handover’ meeting with the project team once project has been awarded, providing detailed briefing of the tender requirements.
- Work closely with the General Manager to provide leadership to estimators and estimating cadets in their role.
- Represent the company at an professional level.
What you will bring to the role
- Have a minimum of 5 years estimation experience working on various projects within Fit Out, refurbishment, heritage and hospitality style Fit Outs; ranging from $1mill. to $10mill.
- Tertiary qualifications in quantity surveying, construction, construction management, construction engineering or similar.
- In-depth understanding of construction, materials, pricing, and industry.
- Excellent team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project, as well as any other industry building software platforms.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
