Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for quantity surveying, materials take-offs, and design to allow pricing on preliminary design information including prepare and present bid information as part of review and tender presentations.
They work across construction and remediation type projects are generally Industrial, Infrastructure, Water, Buildings fit out/refurb, Commercial or Defence in nature, from smaller up to the value of $550m, experience with similar projects in these sectors or similar across buildings and infrastructure will be an advantage.
Having experience on projects up to about $10m would be great.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Build pricing models from first principles using rates from the following sources:
- Compile Company productivity data
- Industry norms
- Historical data
- Compile clear and concise scopes of works and request for tender documentation.
- Attend Site visits as required including remote and interstate site locations
- Determine and submit tender clarifications on time and as required to both ensure compliance of tender and maintain strategic position.
- Respond and record tender clarifications with subcontractor and supplier submissions ensuring omissions and dispensations are clearly identified and balanced in evaluation and comparison sheets.
- Conduct commercial, risk and profitability reviews aligned with company procedures and risk thresholds.
- Provide detailed tender handover documentation with traceability and support into pre-contracts and delivery.
- Ongoing contribution and development of National subcontractor and supplier base.
- A structured consistent approach to pricing works with transparency and cross checking mechanisms to provide assurance of tender values in line with company policies and procedures.
- The ability to review and comprehend tender documentation
- Tertiary Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or similar
- Circa 5 years+ experience in a similar role
- Experience in Bid Management and preparation of tender documentation
- Understanding of Risk Management
- Experience in the remediation sector and/or Defence is highly beneficial
- A strong commercial acumen
- Ability to work part of a team as well as autonomously
- High level of organisation and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to obtain a clear Police Check
