Due to continued project wins, we are looking to recruit the services of a construction Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to work directly within our pre-construction team. The ideal candidate will be tertiary educated in construction management have a strong knowledge of the commercial fit-out process having worked in an estimation or contracts administration role previously.
Description/Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labour, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Analyse project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of works and project requirements.
Quantity Surveying
- Conduct thorough quantity surveys and take-offs.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely measurement of quantities.
Budget Management
- Assist in the development and management of project budgets.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase and provide regular updates.
- Complete market reviews to ensure cost plans are aligned with current rates and practices.
Tendering
- Prepare and submit competitive tender proposals.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather competitive quotes.
Contract Administration:
- Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitor contract performance and resolve any disputes that may arise.
Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project costs.
- Develop strategies to mitigate and manage risks effectively.
- Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Estimator/Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.
- Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Communication and negotiation abilities.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a high level of customer service, be proficient with Microsoft 365, and an excellent communicator both verbally and written. Ideally your fit-out experience will come directly from a construction tertiary qualification or a trade background. You will be a team player that is flexible help the team where required.
