Qualifications & experience
Outstanding customer service abilities. Proficiency in fundamental cash handling and banking procedures, along with the competence to operate a Point of Sale (POS) system. Familiarity with utilizing computerized stock control and scanning systems. Understanding of stock storage and display necessities. Basic comprehension of stock control principles.
Skill in thoroughly cleaning toilets and fuel bowsers to meet high standards. Regular inspection of store refrigeration and other equipment. Strict adherence to all Health, Safety, and Food handling standards and protocols. Ability to identify and address minor equipment malfunctions. Knowledge of the significance & responsibilities of workplace health and safety
Tasks & responsibilities
Providing top-notch customer service to all patrons. Accountable for overseeing shift Console Operations. Ensuring safe dispensing of fuel on the forecourt. Monitoring for any potential ignition sources on the forecourt. Keeping a vigilant eye on the forecourt for any instances of drive-offs. Maintaining a well-presented forecourt area by promptly addressing spills and cleaning bowsers, ensuring windscreen buckets are filled, and ensuring wipes and gloves are readily available while also promptly removing any rubbish.
Accurately taking dip and meter readings following the Tank Dipping Procedure. Handling the operation of the console point of sale with honesty, accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness. Conducting daily reconciliations. Providing support for regular stock takes and placing orders as necessary. Contributing to the maintenance and improvement of sales displays and stock rotation.
Undertaking various kitchen duties, including food and beverage preparation and service. Preparing various food items such as wraps, rolls, sandwiches, salads, etc. Cooking a range of food items for service, including burgers and other hot takeaway menu items. Adhering to all food temperature safety regulations. Ensuring the cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing and scrubbing of crockery, cutlery, and cooking items used during the shift. Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
Managing waste disposal by emptying all bins into the designated outdoor bins and correctly disposing of cardboard and other recycling materials. Cleaning various areas such as benches, fridges, freezers, and storerooms as required. Ensuring the cleanliness of the store, toilets, and fuel bowsers. Assisting in the preparation and maintaining adequate levels of takeaway foods. Adhering to Food Handling Standards and maintaining a high standard of Personal Hygiene. Undertaking general administrative tasks and any other duties as needed.
Prior to commencing this role, a medical check-up may be necessary to ensure that the individual is physically fit for the tasks involved. This position will involve working on weekends and public holidays based on the schedule or roster that is established for the role.
