The Alliance Française de Melbourne (AFM) is an independent, not-for-profit language and cultural organisation promoting Franco-Australian exchange since 1890. With a mission to spread the French language and culture well beyond the borders of France, it is one of the 819 Alliance Française existing in 137 countries all over the world and one of the 30 AF in Australia. Situated in South Yarra and in the CBD, the centre offers online and onsite French courses for all ages, interests and all levels. It holds a variety of cultural and social events throughout the year including the annual French Film Festival.
This position covers the position of Events Manager for the Alliance Française. Events can be social, cultural, promotional or educational both at AFM and at partner sites.
The position is also supporting the other AF FFF Melbourne Event Manager for the preparation, coordination, sponsorship, promotion of the annual French Film Festival. This involves juggling multiple stakeholders both within the Alliance Française community and external partners to ensure success of the Festival. It is a position of trust requiring the ability to work both independently and with others. Flexibility is essential during busy periods along with outstanding communication skills. The position is demanding and requires excellent organisational skills, initiative, efficiency, even-temperament and a commitment and passion to the aims and purpose of our organisation.
