Events Officer

SALARY: $1,646.49 - 1,886.32 pw + Super 

Work Type: Permanent Full Time

Location: Oran Park Administration Building - 70 Central Avenue, Oran Park 2570

Camden Council’s Public Affairs team are on the lookout for a passionate and results driven Events Officer to join the team. Reporting to the Senior Events Officer, you will be responsible for the initiation, planning and coordination of Council community events.

This position provides you with the opportunity to take ownership of the projects you manage whilst working in a collaborative and creative team to deliver sustainable, fun and engaging events.

Essential:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or extensive experience in an event management role.

  • Previous experience in organising functions and outdoor community events including the preparation and administration of budgets.

  • Experience working with community groups and coordinating staff and volunteers.

  • Highly developed written, verbal and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in visual displays, marketing strategies and online communications.

  • Ability to operate in a team environment both as a leader and participant.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply EEO, WHS and ethical practice principles and to act with probity at all times.

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop or other desktop publishing or design programs.

  • Knowledge of government protocol, policies and procedures.

To meet Council’s WHS requirements and in accordance with Council’s Covid-19 Safety Plans, this position has been identified via risk assessment to be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or provide evidence of an approved medical contraindication. If a medical contraindication certificate is provided, it will be assessed against a risk assessment and the decision of whether Council accepts the medical contraindication certificate, will be based on operational needs.
